Finland loves phones! Most people do all of their daily lives on their devices. These are our most loved:

Frank - your student ID. You’ll need this for Unicafe meals and other student discounts. N.B.: this also works as your proof of student status for HSL! 🎒

HSL - the Helsinki Transit app. Most forms of transit don’t require you to show a ticket as you board, but make sure to have a valid ticket at all times. The fine for missing tickets is 100€ ! 🫣

Aurora (android) (apple) - let’s you know when you might be able to see the Northern Lights. It happens on occasion in the city. Make sure to tell your classmates if you see them 🌠

ResQ - buy food that would otherwise be wasted. Restaurants will list their food that they can no longer sell, and you grab it at a solid discount. 🥨

Museum Card - Most museums in Finland share a single membership - for around 70€ a year (sometimes they offer student discounts, too), you have unlimited access to all the art you could ever want! 🎨
